Softball Upset!

The girls softball team's run for a state title came to abrupt halt Saturday afternoon by the Generals of John Stark.  The game was played at Goffstown High School under a blazing sun and surrounded by a large and enthusiastic crowd.  The game was exciting for the duration. Freshman Alyssa Lombardi got it started quickly with a solo home run to left-center in the bottom of the first. The Grizzlies up 1-0 after one.  Great pitching and fielding by both teams prevented any scoring until the third when Stark plated two runs to go up by one.  Goffstown tied the game at two and it stayed that way until the top of the seventh when the Generals loaded the bases and scored four with one swing of the bat. Unfortunately for the Grizzlies that was the last of the scoring for their great season.  Final score John Stark 6 - Goffstown 2.
